Guidelines for Setting Up Windows Server 2022
Once you've prepared a bootable USB drive, follow these steps to install Windows Server 2022:
- Power on your server normally, insert the Windows Server USB, and then restart your server.
- Your server will boot from the USB. When prompted with Press any key to boot from CD or DVD, press any key.
- Restart your server and press the boot menu key (usually F2, F10, F11, F12, or Del) when the manufacturer's logo appears.
- Change the boot order to prioritize USB.
- In the setup program, select your language, time format, currency, and keyboard layout, then click Next.
- Click Install now to begin the installation process.
- Select the Server edition you wish to install and click Next.
- Accept the license terms and click Next.
- Choose Custom: Install Microsoft Server Operating System only (advanced).
- Select the hard drive for Windows Server installation and click Next.
- Windows Server installation will commence and may take several minutes.
- Create a memorable password and click Finish.
- Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and enter your password to access the Windows Server desktop.
Note: If the installation doesn’t start, change the boot order in your BIOS settings to boot from the USB.
Note: Deleting all partitions is recommended for optimal operation. If your hard drive is new, simply click next.
