Configuring Windows Server 2022 in VirtualBox: A Step-by-Step Guide

To set up VirtualBox on your computer, follow these steps:

  1. Go to this link and select the Windows Hosts option from the list.
  2. The VirtualBox file will begin downloading to your PC.
  3. Run the VirtualBox installer. Click Next.
Note: If you encounter issues during installation, try deselecting the USB features in the installer.

Here's how to create a new virtual machine in VirtualBox:

  1. Click the New button in the Machine menu.
  2. Provide a name for the virtual machine, locate the Windows Server 2022 .iso file, and then click Next.
    3. Note: Ensure to check the box labeled Skip Unattended Installations.
  3. Allocate at least 4 GB of RAM and click Next.
    4. Note: You may adjust this value to meet your system's requirements.
  4. Select the option to Create a Virtual Hard Disk Now (a minimum of 50 GB is recommended for optimal performance). Click Next.
  5. In the Summary window, click Finish.
  6. In the Tools tab, choose the Windows Server 2022 .iso file by clicking the button with three dots. From the dropdown, select Media.
  7. Next, go to the Optical Disks tab and click Add.
  8. Launch the virtual machine by clicking Start.
  9. The installation of Windows Server 2022 will commence.
