Setting Up Windows 8 in VirtualBox: A Step-by-Step Guide
To set up VirtualBox on your computer, proceed with these instructions:
- Access this link and choose the Windows Hosts selection from the menu.
- The VirtualBox installer will commence downloading on your system.
- Launch the downloaded VirtualBox installer and click Next.
Tip: Should you encounter any issues during installation, omit the USB options in the setup menu.
Here’s how to establish a new virtual machine in VirtualBox:
- Hit the New button within the Machine menu.
- Name your new Virtual Machine and pinpoint the location for the Windows 8 .iso file. Press Next.
- Allocate at least 2 GB of RAM then click Next.
- Select to Create a Virtual Hard Disk Now (opt for at least 40 GB to ensure smooth operation). Then press Next.
- In the next Summary window, click Finish.
- Navigate to the Tools option and click the three-dot button to the right. A dropdown menu will appear. Select Media.
- Select the Optical Disks tab and then press Add. Choose the Windows 8 .iso file.
