Installing Windows 11 via VirtualBox – A Step-by-Step Guide

Note: Ensure you have at least 4 GB of RAM and 52 GB of free hard drive space to use VirtualBox with Windows 11.

To install VirtualBox on your PC, follow these steps:

  1. Visit this link and choose the Windows Hosts option.
  2. The VirtualBox installer will download to your PC.
  3. Open the VirtualBox installer and proceed with the installation. Click Next.
Note: If you encounter issues installing VirtualBox, try deselecting the USB features in the setup wizard.

To create a new virtual machine (VirtualBox):

  1. Click the New button in the Machine menu.
  2. Name your Virtual Machine, select the location of the Windows 11 .iso file, and click Next.
  3. Note: Tick the box labeled Skip Unattended Installations.
  4. Allocate at least 4 GB of RAM and click Next.
  5. Note: Adjust the RAM value based on your preferences, ensuring it meets Windows 11 system requirements.
  6. Select Create a Virtual Hard Disk Now, then click Next.
  7. Note: Allocate at least 52 GB for optimal performance.
  8. In the Summary window, click Finish.
  9. Select the Windows 11 .iso file and click the three-dot button next to Tools. From the dropdown menu, choose Media.
  10. Under the Optical Disks tab, click Add.
  11. Start the virtual machine by clicking Start.
  12. Windows 11 installation will commence.
