Configuring Windows 10 in VirtualBox
Begin by setting up VirtualBox on your computer using these instructions:
- Navigate to this link and choose the Windows Hosts from the selection.
- Your download of the VirtualBox setup should begin shortly.
- Run the downloaded installer for VirtualBox. Press Next to proceed.
Attention: Should you encounter any setup issues with VirtualBox, consider unchecking the USB feature options.
Here's the procedure to create a new virtual machine in VirtualBox:
- Click the New button in the Machine menu.
- Define a name for your Virtual Machine, choose a location for the Windows 10 .iso file, then press Next. Opt out of the Skip Unattended Installation by unchecking it.
- Allocate a minimum of 4 GB of RAM and continue by clicking Next.
- Select to create a Virtual Hard Disk now; ensure it has at least 40 GB for optimal functionality, then hit Next.
- At the Summary window that follows, confirm by clicking Finish.
- In the Tools menu, access the Windows 10 .iso file by hitting the button displaying three dots. A dropdown will appear. Select Media.
- Proceed to the Optical Disks tab and select Add.
- Initiate the virtual machine by pressing Start.
- The installation of Windows 10 will commence.
